Calcium Nitrate Ca (NO3) 2: fournit l’azote (N) et le calcium (Ca) pour nourrir les plantes d’aquarium.
Quite often in a planted aquarium the plants absorb so much nitrate that it becomes a shortage and limits the growth of the plants. So aquarists add it manually.
To make a typical stock solution add 35.7g of dry Ca(NO3)2 powder to 500ml of RO or distilled water and then add 20ml of this per 100L of tank.
This will give you a value of 7.5 ppm.
Dosing: 1.4g of Ca(NO3)2 with give you 7.5 ppm increase of Nitrate in 100L (26 US gallons) of water.
Amounts above are for reference only. Your planted aquarium may need more or less depending on many factors.
Precautions for Safe Handling:
Use sufficient ventilation. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection as advised in section 8. Ensure eye wash stations and safety showers are available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure at the workplace and maintained. Avoid splashing. Do not eat, drink or smoke during use. Always wash hands after handling the product. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas. Do not discharge the waste into the drain.
Conditions for Safe Storage, including any Incompatibilities:
Keep preferably in the original container and store between -10°C and 30°C. Keep away from iron. Do not use with copper/aluminium/zinc – risk of corrosion. Keep substance away from: heat sources, combustible materials, reducing agents, (strong) acids, (strong) bases, organic materials, metals. Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area. Keep out of direct sunlight. Provide for a tub to collect spills. Secure fragile packagings in solid containers. Suitable packaging materials: synthetic material, glass, stainless steel. Materials to avoid: aluminium, iron, copper.
