AAA Nitrate Potassium KNO3

KNO3 – Potassium Nitrate: Provides Nitrogen (N) and Potassium (K) for feeding aquarium plants.

Guaranteed Analysis

Total Nitrogen(N) ………………..13.5%

13.5% Nitrate Nitrogen

Soluble Potash(K2O) …………….46.2%

Quite often in a planted aquarium the plants absorb so much nitrate that it becomes a shortage and limits the growth of the plants. So aquarists add it manually.

To make a typical stock solution add 61g of dry KNO3 powder to 500ml of RO or distilled water and then add 10ml of this per 100L of tank.

This will give you a value of 7.5 ppm.

Dosing:  1g of KNO3 with give you 6.1 ppm increase of Nitrate in 100L (26 US gallons) of water.

Dose 2-4 times a week, the target is 5-30 ppm per week if you use  EI METHOD

Amounts above are for reference only.  Your planted aquarium may need more or less depending on many factors.
